mer, has been agreed upon according
to good authority. The new struc
ture costing $100,000 or thereabouts,
will be erected at the east end of the
present round house and extend along
to the north of it The extreme east
end will be Just north of the store
house and will be built between the
street on the north, and the round
house and store house on the south.
The west end of the round House
Is to hare six or seven stalls added
to It for the accommodation of the
Mallets. In all the expenditures will
amount to about $170,000 it Is esti
mated, though the appropriation Is
only $160,000. '

of the Investigating commlttee.whlch
probed the .Arlington wreck a few
days since: the report follows:
Extra 2648 West. 47 cars, consisting
of 13 loads and 34 empties, 1360 tons,
was derailed one and one-half miles
east of Arlington. June 16th; locomo
tive tender and 16 cars were derailed
damaging equipment to extent of
12500. track $200 and contents of cars
$200. Brakeman Sproule badly In
jured and Fireman HInkle slightly
Injured. Two tramps (names' yet un
known) badly Injured.
Derailment caused by a large rock
which had rolled down from side cut
and stopped on track between rails.
Extra 2648 west ran over same de
railing engine tender and 16 cars.
There was no reason to expect rock
to be falling at this point If they
did, it could not be expected they
would reach the track. On account
of the curvature In track enelner
could not see the rock until he was
practically upon It too late to stop
the train before striking. :

amined, and from the evidence se
cured at the scen of the accident,
the Board is of the opinion that the
accident was unavoidable, that prop
er precautions were taken, track
properly patrolled, and the Board ex
onerates the railroad company and

to kill his mother. Wllkie is In the
city Jail on a drunk and disorderly
charge, but arrangements are being
made to have him arraigned in higher
court on more serious charges.
Since his return from the peniten
tiary, Wilkle has been less abnoxious
than usual as far as police records
are concerned, but It seems that his
mother has been subjected to a sys
tematic course of mistreatment and
she told the police today that unles
her son was sent away she would
