A wedding of much Interest to La
Grande people occurred this morning
when Mr. Alvah Storms Duryea and
Miss Letita A. Cowell were married
at their home at 2265 Belmont avenue
at Fresno, Calif., at 11 a, m., Rev.
Duncan. Wallace of the Presbyterian
church officiating. The young peo
ple left on a wedding tour to San
Francisco, Los Angeles and Potrland
and expect to visit Mr. Duryea's mo
"ther and sisters In this city. His

Abe E. Eaton, a former Union fi
nancier, who is now In Portland and
who is the standard bearer for the
prohibitionists In the state for the of
