In honor of Mrs. A. L. Richardson,
who has recently returned from Newj
York, Mrs. T. J. Scroggln and Mrs. C.J
H. Upton entertained seventy-five ,
lady friends at : the Scroggln home
last Tuesday afternoon. The beauti
ful home was tastefully . decorated
with yellow and white flowers this
plan of decoration being adhered to
thruoghout. Guests were escorted to
the reception room by Misses Ceclle,
Lilly and Minna Ash and in the re
ceiving line stood Mrs. Scroggln,' Mrs.
Upton, Mrs. Mamie Sullivan, of Long
Beach, Cal. and Mr, . Richardson. The
hostesses were assisted by Miss Mar
garet Anson, Mrs. E. D. Selder, Mrs.
R. W. Logan and Mre. W. W. Berry.
( At the serving table where light
refreshments were Berved, Mrs. A. T.
Hill and Mrs. F. L. Lilly, assisted by
MiBses Ash and Lilly, presided. The
table a bower , of flowers and cut
glass with especially beautiful decora
tions.' t Punch was served " by Mrs.
N. Moll tor. assisted by Misses Helen
Curry- and Alice Hill. The musical
commenced at 3 o'clock and every
number delighted the listeners. The
guests were especially pleased , to
hear the sweet qualities which Mrs.
Richardson's voice has developed dur
ing a winter's Btudy under prominent
