Numerous game parties, the band
dance, and card parties fnclude about
All that marked the present week in
a social way, and though there was
wedding or two, It .cannot be said
that Cupid has gotten well under way
as yet this week. Next week, com
mencement affairs wilt usurp nearly
everything and toat is as It should be
for one week of the year is always set
aside to the girl graduates of the high
school and though several functions
are now planned in the way of class
receptions and the like, it will be a
week' of the strenuous sort in an
academic way to the large class that
- will be graduated from the local high
school.

A special meeting of the literary de
partment of the Neighborhood club is
called for Monday, May 23, at 2:30
oclock. All wishing to Join this de
partment are requested to be present
at that hour.

Last night when a party of young
folks visited the home of H. P. Lewis
and wife at 402 Third street thinking
that bride and groom were housed
there, Mr." Lewis appeared on the
front porch demanding that everyone
of the youngsters enter the house. One
boy said he was the captain and he
led the way. The girls in the party
reluctantly entered the home and

door and demanded an explanation. He
claimed that he had been married four
years and it was highly improper jhat

Several of the party wanted to leave
but he refused to let them. When
candy and oranges were served he de
manded that each one eat. although
timidity among the girls again assert
ed itself. Today Mr. Lewis said he
had thought of appealing to the law
for' disturbance of the peace, but he
remembered that he was once young
himself and changed his mind.

Dayton. O., May 21 -Wilbur Wright's
flight of 200 feet into the air is re
garded today as the most important
voyage an aviator ever made in the
middle west. Last evening he soared
to the heights in ten minutes. Wright

Venice, May 21. Convicted . of a
murder and a conspiracy that startled
all Europe Countess Marie Tarnewsky
Dr. ' Naumoff and Nicholas Prllukoff
today began serving a term In prison
for the murder of Count Kemarewsky.
The countess and the physician were
sentenced to three and eight years re
spectively. . Prllukoff was given ten
years. All are Russians.
