met some objection and it Is doubtful

agree to do all they could to place

ter of Improvement of North Ash and
North Birch streets under advisement,
asked for more time. -
The. auditor's report was read show
ing an error of $1.00 in the city books
for the month of April, The error was
corrected however. ,
The matter ot road tax struck a
snag for about half an hour the pity
was the subject f a lively debate on
the floor of the council.; A majority
and minority report was the outcome
of the debate, and the final vote kill
ed the minority report and upheld the
majority. , The debate started when
the street committee , reported . that
J. M. Hilts had been secured to col
lect road tax at a cost of $2.60 per day.
