That a motor car service la to be , established at once between Umatilla and Pendleton Is announced by J. H. O'Neill, traveling passenger agent for Cie 0. R. & N. company. It Is .the Intention of the company, according to Mr. O Nell to place the car i hoper tlon within a few days. The exact Sate for starting the service has not been set, but , It wilt probably con xnence on Monday. The car for use on ten run is now en route - from Kansas City. ' : i- The exact Schedule for the car Is ot yet worked out However It will probably leave Umatilla at 8:30 a. m., and returning westward will leave Pendleton at 4 or 4; SO p. m. But one trip each way will be made during the day. The present charge f three cents per mile' for passen ger travel will also apply j on the motor car. ' That the . passenger aervlce be tween Umatilla and Pendleton shoulJ be Improved by the addition of a morning service from the west end has long been desired by local peo ple.' Consequently business men are rejoicing over the announcement re garding the motor car, After the car has been placed npon ( the run, a morning an devenlng passenger ser vice will be provided both ways be tween Umatilla and Pendltoa.
