Remarkable growth and perfection
Association during 1st year
In concluding its maiden year
with the election of a directorate,
and reports of various departments
last night, the La Grande Business
men's Protective Association is to
day launched surely and safely on
another year of its career. The past
year has been marked with great
strides towards perfection of busi
ness unity. The association finds its
personnel made up of practically ev
ery business man in the city, and, he
is a worker for his own good and
for the good of the city with equal
spirit
Perfecly satisfied woth the man
agement of the first directorate, but
desirous of having as many elements
working at various times as possi
ble, tbe membership last evening
chose an entirely, new directorate,
with one exception; In tbiB way the
management and bulk of the work
inculcated by the association's ex
istence, will not fall on one set of
men from year to year. The new
directors follow:

These men will elect a president
and secretary. John Collier is the
retiring president of the association,
Last night the report of the secre
tary was read and the firm founda

apparent. The chief purpose of the
order is the protect credits. It has
been the policy under the direct sup

where the debtor is Btriving to
