Cande district are scarce. Only one
person la known to have applied aud
that person Is a lady. Word from the
Supervisor at Portland says the same
shortage of census enumerators pre
vails everywhere. In sparcely settled
districts the pay Is $6.00 per day
with no restrictions as to the num
ber of people counted In a day.
