educational meeting ever held In Pen
dleton or In" eastern Oregon will be
held In this city during April. It Will
be the annual meeting of the Inland
Empire Teachers Association, an or
ganization embraces Oregon, Idaho,
Washington, Montana and Wyoming.
Coincident "with the convention will
be held a county Institute for the
counties of Umatilla, Union, Baker
Malheur and perhaps Wallowa. In ad
ditional "perhaps the annual conven
tion of the eastern division of the
state teacher's association will nlso
be held here. For these various meet
ings several hundred teachers will be
present and the gathering will be an
event In the history of educational
work in this section.

tometers, an Instrument for the
proper testing of the eye, which the
Inventor has been working on for the
past twelve years. Dr. Mendlesohn
says that he has been waiting for it
to be perfected for several years and
congratulates himself upon being the
third occulist on the pacific coast to
have one. The other two Instruments
