seven children were recovered to
day fro mthe ruins of the home of
Steve Bronsky, which was destroyed
by fire last night The children rang
ed from 2 to 12 years of age. The fire
started fro man overheated kitchen
stove and the woodwork was ablaze
before Bronsky noticed It A moment
later, a keg of powder forgotten in
the excitement, exploded with terrlf-
fic force spreading the fire to all
parts of the building and cutting off
every means of escape from the up
per portions of the house, where the
children were sleeping Bronsky's wife
and a lady boarding with the family
are badly burned and may die.

decided in a hearing here, that New
lond was a bona tide squatter before
time that Mr. Byrkitt made filing, fol
lowing the lineup of the land office of
some time ago. A long series of suits
were soon after started over what is
known as the 4-41 cases. Byrkitt ap
pealed to the next highest authority
and lost, appealing again to the Bee
retary. He, now has recourse to the
federal courts, but the land office de
partment has finished with the case.

miners were Instantly killed in ima
of the coal mines here, today In an
explosion which partly wrecked the
interior of the mine and exposed to
death the lives of a score of miners
who were working in the gallery at

of the men were taken from the gall
ery soon after the accident. They
were badly crushed by the falling coal
and timbers The cause of the accident
