It Is very apparent that coal will be in sharp demand here during the pre3 ent winter. Coal orders are stacked up high In all of the dealers offices, ths dealers simply taking the orders with out any promise as to when it can be filled. Occasionally a car load drops In but It Is sold long before it reaches here with the result that the average buying public is experiencing a really serious coal famine at the present time. All the satisfaction that dealers get from transportation companies is that the railroads are doing the best they can and Invariably Instill hope by say ing that coal Is now moving westward. The famine has been on in a mild way for a month. Ittt now it is to the point where it is impossible to get coal wiih out orderng far ahead. LOST A mik muff and purse be tween La Grande and Hilgard.
