A diploma awarding the cold medal
for Bniall grains and sugar beets ex
hibited at the Alaska-Yukon-Paclflc
exposition, to Union county, was re
ceived this morning by County Judge
Henry and the document is now be
ing framed to hang on the walls of
the county court rooms at the court
house.
The one diploma awards the two
medals. The small grain prize was
announced as coming to this district
some time ago, but the diploma it
self is what has reached here today.
The farmers and the community at
large may feel Justly proud of the distinction.

last Saturday evening, Rev. McLeod
officiating. Sunday morning Mr. and
Mrs. Tuttle returned to Elgin where
a right, royal reception awaited the

planned to go to Portland on a wed
ding tour but friends had eloped with
suitcases and trunks, leaving Mr. and
Mrs. Tuttle with but one alternative,
that of returning to their future home.

and a few fortunate high school boys
were entertained Saturday evening at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Bragg
with the Misses Gladys Osterling and
Zoe Bragg as hostesses. Four tables
at whist formed the amusements of
the evening and Frank Earls was the
prize winner. After the game a delic
ious luncheon was served.
The Lyle Tuesday musical will
meet tomorrow afternoon and will
listen to a fine program. Mrs. C. O.
Cummings has charge of the meeting.
