ment that during the year 1909, 11,000
saloons have been voted out of exist
ence and 4,000 more forced to close,
which is an average of 40 saloons a
day being voted out of existence. He
predicts a still greater decrease when
the great mass of the laboring ele
ment of the country, who are the
greatest sufferers through the saloon,
when this class becomes awake to
their . position the anti-saloon move
ment will spread greater than ever.
