Yesterday was divorce day for
Judge Knowles. After hearing the
Mlre case from Hot Lake and grant- j

ternoon on arguments and motions
preliminary to the triaL Mrs. Mc
Cumber was granted $50 for attor
ney's fees, $25 to guarantee the- ex
penses of defending her case and $20
per month temporary alimony until
the case can be tried out upon Its mer
Its.
Other seggregation suits to be heard
mere Gaddis vs Gaddls and Munroe
vs. Munroe. Both of these cases were
from Elgin. The witnesses la each re
turned home this morning. Neither
of the suits were contested.

Seriously Injured.
Two men were injured today by the
machinery In sawmills, one being at
the George Palmer Lumber Company
mills and theother at the Perry mills.
At the first named mill, George Willis
suffered injuries when his hand came
in contact with a rip saw. His thumb,
index and middle fingers were sever
ed. Doctor Molitor treated the wonds
at the hospital and hopes to save the
hand.
Peter Hraly was hurt at Perry when
his hand was caught in the edger. The
index and middle Sneers were crush
ed but may be savei:

is located Just outside of La Grande.
Mr. Beckley is one of the genial drum
fliers who travel in this territory and
business men and fellow drummers
all will "miss him when he is gone."
Mr. Mcintosh will make La Grande his
