Eastern Oregon is revived In the mem
ry of the pioneers. The Summervllle
cemetery is one of the largest ceme
tries in Union county and was In the
art days the county burying ground.
There are few pioneer families in
Union county today who do not have
some close ties binding them to that
spot of ground. 1 .
J. L. Woodell, president of the ceme
tery association, Is In the city today
looking after the recording of the
laad. He says that work is contin
ually being done on the grounds and
that It Is being kept in fine condition
by the people. Contributions to the
president and directors for the carry
ing on of the work are made by peo
ple from all over the country as the
fist Is dear to the memory of the old
timers.
