Firemen Find Rocks In ozzle Which
the Streams
One of the most spectacular and

8 o'clock iu a large barn on North
Greenwood street owned by Mrs. Rose
Harris. The fire department was on
the scene in a hurry and soon hud (he
fire under control.
The barn was a total loss, no Insur
ance being carried. A. V. Oliver had
about 30 tons of hay in the barn which
was either burned or desroyed by the
water and smoke. There was some in
surance on the hay. No cause for the
fire has been discovered.
One of the mysterious events con
nected with the fire was the discovery
in si total large rocks in the nozzle of
the fire hose. This forced tho firenmn
to stop and remove the nozzle before
putting the stream on the blaze. Chief
Jones does not take the view that the
work was done maliciously but only
through the mischief of boys. The
nozzle hangs on the hose cart and the
rocks could have been dropped Into
them.
