Louinrille, Oct 22. A hearing is
scheduled to be held in this city to
day in the proceedings of the Florida
Railroad Commission against the
LoaisTille & Nashvelle to show cause
why a three-cent rate should not be
maintaintd in Florida. Previous
hearings hare been held in Florida,
and the last was terminated suddenly ,
when Sir. Farnum, an expert wit-;
ness, fainted in the witnes chair. '
A mas of testimony has been taken i
which is to be revieed by Jo ' j
pard In passing on the question a j
dissolving the injunction. It is ex-,
pected much more testimony will be ;
taken at Louisville, as the cross-examination
of Mr. Farnum is still to
be completed, and the railroad will
put several witnesses on the stand.

porary chairman -and Charles Coch
ran temporary secretary. These offi
cers were made the temporary officers
of the organization of the Car Assoc! a
tion. The next meeting-will be held
immediately after the Wallowa term
of court upon three days notice from
the temporary president. At that time
at lthe attorneys of the county will
be invited to be present to participate
! In the permanent organization.
One of the particular plans for the
! Bar Association ; mentioned at the
meeting this afternoon was the forma
tion of a count law library. SiVeral
of the attorneys present told of coun
t ylaw libraries In other parts of the
country and the sentiment seemed to
prevade the meeting that such a li
brary would be an excellent thing to
start The general Improvement of
matters pertaining to the Interest of
the lawyers of the county Is the ob
ject of the association.

hanged at noon today. He was con
victed for the murder of Mary Smeker
of Oregon City, November 20th, 1908.
