A verdict of guilty was returned
last evening about o'clock In the
case of the city of La Grande vs. Robt
Wilkinson, charged with selling neer
beer to a' minor, Roy Chenault, In vio
lation of a city ordinance. In connec
tion with the verdict the Jury recom
mended the defendant to the extreme
mercy of the court.
Wilkinson will remain free under
hia bonds until Monday morning when
sentence will be passed upon him. It
will be remembered that from the ev
idence in the case the. neer beer
was sold by one ot Wilkinson's em
