The steel for the Oro Dell bridge is
to be hurried, to La Grande, according
to a letter received today by Contract
ors Campbell & Fitzgerald. There has
been untold delay on account of pres
sure brought to bear '. by the large
bridge concerns because the contract
was awarded to local La Grande peo
ple, for the reason that the local peo
ple bid the lowest. This trouble has
now been eradicated and the steel will
be hurried here to complete the struc
ture at once.
The cement abutments are all ready

after they have arrived will require no
great length of time.

the favorite hunting grounds. They
are "Night Policeman John Walden, his
son Claude and Jim Mulholland. They
were thoroughly equipped for a con
siderable stay ln the wilds and before

by crossing Looking Glass and pro
ceeding about 40 miles beyond that

Lewlston, Idaho, accidentally shot hlra
