turbulent waters of the freshman
year. The ollicers are: President,
Miss Olive Massee; vice president,
Milton Stoddard; secretary-treasurer,
Miss Bessie Smith. Unlike the fresh-

freshman was chosen president, and
not a member of the formidable

-No Attempt to Burn Tabernacle.
A story is being whispered on the
streets today that an attempt was
made by some unknown parties Sun
day evening to burn the new taber
nacle just completed for the purpose
of taking of the crowds who will at
tend the Shannon revival.
Thorough investigation shows there
Is nothing to the story and that no
attempt was made to fire the struc
ture. Sunday evening It was report
ed that fire was seen in the taber
nacle and several children claim they
rushed in and stamped out some blaz
ing paper. This paper was set on
fire by other children, it is alleged
who were in the building.
tfhen a committee who has the
tabernacle in charge heard of what
was reported they visited the bit'M
ing but could find no tvldence what
ever of any fire, not oven the bu'n.'d
paper. Baker City Herald.
