That the remaining parties of the series will be ' popular Is self evident from the satisfaction express ed on every hand of the initial num ber. It was entirely informal and void of everything but pleasure. Fruit puncbj and wafers were served by Misses Zoe Bragg and Olive Ma see. The hostesses were: Mrs. A. W. Kelson and Misses Ruth Bush, Ethel Gulling, Frances Massee, LuVi Gulling, Florence McCall, Irene Mur phy and Gertrude Ralston. Among out-of-town guests present, were: Mr. and Mrs. Clay RInehart and C. E. Ed dings of Imbler. Miss Irene Murphy, a member of the Le Jaunese club, last evening entertained at a post dancing party luncheon, following the party at the Elks hall. The Murphy home on Main avenue was a profusion of flow ers, pink tarnations being used In the reception hall and dining room, while red roses and smilax adorned the dining room. Water color place tn,ulded the guests to thelr, seats at the festival board, where the hostess served oyster cottails, chic ken salad, wafers, celery, salted almonds, assorted cakes, coffee and penochii. Through the omission of two words the assessment of the O. R. & N. com pany in. Union county was given yes terday as one quarter million dollars. Th assessment of the property of the railroad company was slightly In ad vance of three and a quarter millions. The exact figures were $3,273,075. On the main line the road bed was as sessed at $37,000 and the rolling stock at $3,000. On the Elgin branch the road bed was assessed at. $33,000, and the rolling stock at $2,W,0 per mile.
