Mr. Ireland has accepted a position in the Model res taurant, and began work there today. The conference which closed its sess ions in Spokane last night has a new man for the La Grande field, but his name has not been learned by the lo-1 cal church. This information will probably be forthcoming tonight. The Rev. Mr. Ireland hasn't given up the wor'- but wishes to take some further studies in theo'ogy before ac cepting another appointment. La Grande is shy another of its in habitants, for Willie Wilkie has taken leave and the officials today are firm In their belief that he will not show up again, for months at any rate. Wilkie attacked Mike Ford last Sat urday night, beating him up with av uncial knuckles, after a quarrel on the street.
