Judge EL D. "W. Sheehan, of Enter
prise, was in the city this morning
on bis way borne from Baker City,
where he went as an attorney In the
child case, which was heard there
yesterday. The case grows out of a
diTorce suit, Stella Boswell va. Ran
dall Boswell, which was decided six
years ago in which the custody of the
child was given to the mother of Mr.
Boswell when the divorce was grant
ed him. Mrs. Stella Boswell has
aince married a man by the name of
Hunsacker, and they reside In Powder
valley.
Recently tha mother of the child
filed a suit for the recovery of the
boy, who is nine years of age, from
his grandmother. The case was heard
yesterday and the grandmother re-
I tains possession of the child. Mrs.

the grandmother in the case, also pas
sed through La Grande this morning
on her way to Pendleton, where she
will visit for a short time. The child
was in company with Judge Sheehan,
wh i ill tk it tr. its home in Enter
prise. Mrs. Hunaacker was not pres
ent at the time of the decision, but
her sister, the aunt of the child was
there and a pathetic scene was enact;
ed when she heard the decree! Judge
Sheehan was representing the grand
mother In the suit

same message over the hills to Walla
Walla.
