cooking stove and every furnace, large and small, in this country, and the advantages received from it

SEATTLE. Sept. 14. As a result of
overwork after the construction of the
battleship Nebraska, William Moran,
of the shipbuilding firm of Moran
ros. of this city, is dead today. He
aa fifty years of age.
Enormous crowds are viewing the
state fair at Salem, which Is itself up
to a high standard, according to
Walter M. Pierce, who returned this
morning from Salem and Portland.
Mr. Pierce was at the fair yester
day. The grand stand held 5,000 peo
ple and in all about 16,000 or 17,000
people paid admissions. He reports
the fair Interesting and containing
many execellent features. Mr. Pierce
went on to Hot Lake on the morning
train and returned to La Grande later
