Poundmaster Joe Black escaped ser ious Injury this morning in a lucky fashion when a spirited and ugly pinto which he attempted to capture after It had broke loose from its moorings on Washington avenue. The beast tantalized the whole police department and a few others, but was finally roned by Officer Black. When he had hove in the Black and got his hand on the beast's bridle, that animal com menced a system of sparring and coun ter attack which luckily did but little damage to Mr. Black. The pinto reared up like the coon Johnson and struck with his fore parts so lively and with such force that had he aimed his blows more true Mr. Black would have taken the count for sure. After due care and patience Mr. Horse was snubbed to a tree and awaited his owner who got away without trouble. The animal was extremely vicious. , FOR 8ATJB. ITousekeeper Wanted.
