Mr.'jGeo. H. Currey,

Dear Sir:
Air. Arthur WY Arnold is going to
La . Grande tonight to endeavor to
place some stock in a patent damper.
I, personally, have taken quite a block
of the stock. I consider it one of the
best .patents on the market and be
lieve that it will be a money maker. ,
I herewith enclose you a circular '.
which gives all the ' points of the
patent . f ' '; . i ; '
' 1 would liket to see toy friends in
La Grande Interested in the company,
as the returns no doubt will be large
from the Invention.' ;

F. a STANLEY.
The Safetvand Economy Da mperwCompany organized under the .laws of the state of Oregon, with. a
..capital stockaf $1 00,000, fnlly; paid-and non-assessable, par value $1.00 per share, owns and controls the
inventions of A. ,r. Arnold in . Automatic Damper and Fire Governors, which are among the very import
ant inventions of i podern Jtima i. .
V ...The ArnoldDam per, As.sho m fcythe cuts, is a simple, automatic device which forces the fire to control
itself, and in so doii lg it is. a fue I saver of from 25jxer -cent to 50per cent, a fire insurance and a wonderful
convenience. ! ' .
It is so made that lit may T)e a idjnsted to permit .of any degree of heat and that degree of heat in a uni
form manner JTganiless nf the ( class of fuel.' it is a control of the nre at all times, might and day, even
in your absence, and! is beyond Human power in its sensativeness to. thelheat. - ,
The sum an&subst snce of our proposition is, we have a device that should be used in every heating and
cooking stove and e'i'ery .furnac e, large and small, in this country, and -the advantages received from it
, are so many that no i nan can afl lord. to be without it, for it is a saving.of money and insurance and is a
convenience. While' the. field : for its, use in stoves and furnaces is very large, the field for its use in lar
ger stacks is very largfe, and, tat :en together, the field for our business ;is wonderful in its extent and
'magnitude. : - "
It has every advant age us an advertising proposition, since it shows what it is and what it will do from
a cut and can betfelive bred by m til, and when received it may be installed by a person, whether or not ex

personally inspected b; r some of the "bast authoritiesin the United States, including some .of the United S
