Lack of assembly room facilities in
the high school building has driven
Superintendent J. D. Stout to adopt
a policy of sectional assemblies when
the school opens this year, and one
grade,' possibly the sopohomore, will
be shooed to a room adjacent to the
main assembly room on the second
floor of the high school building. This
room was made vacant by the per
fection of three new rooms in the
White building where formerly only
three were used. "It would be Im
possible to maintain discipline" said
Mr. Stout today, "Under conditions
that now exist, but 1 am confident that
by gnfferegating the classes and hav
ing departmental teachers in charge of
the two rooms continually, we can
get the best solution of the really
difficult problem.?
I'hrslrial Labratory Coming.'
The superintendent, with the aid of
the school board has ordered a quite
complete labratory for the physics
class to augment the trifling material
at hand. This will be here In a few
days and will be ready for use of the
physics class.
Up to date there has been no ap
pearance of new teachers and the
superintendent is anticipating ar
rival, of some of them at least. ne::t
week.
Sple ndld progress has been made
on the White building where the in
terior has been rearranged, repapered

FOOTBALL
High school gladiators mho have
been muscling up during the summer
months are commencing to gather in
the city preparatory to the call of
Coach Wall next Monday, when ini
tial practice will start The unusu
ally heavy schedule this year, com
prising gamss with the leading high
school teams of the Northwest, will
need exceptionally active preparation
and by the time academic work Is In
full swing, football lessons will be
being mastered at a rate seldom
equalled before, because a greater
portion of last year's team, which
worked under Coach Wall, will again
report for training. The aspect is a
promising one, for it is said that sev
