Separated from each other In phy
sical being for 51 years, but keeping
in close touch through the medium
of malls, Perry Tantlinger of Cald
well county, Missouri, and Mrs. Mc
Whirter of this city, are enjoying a
visit with one with the other this
week. Mr. Tantlinger is accompanied
by his wife, who since her arrival
here has not been well, and their in
tended visit to Seattle fair may be
delayed a trifle. While he is here the
Mtssourlan is inspecting the valley
carefully, and though not an out-and-out
buyer, may possibly decide to lo
cate here and bring with him his two
sons and their families.
Mr. Tantlinger is one of those
wideawake Missourfans, who when
"shown", will admit the truth, and
though here but a few days has al
ready become convinced that the land
of his boyhood and the land of his
entire life, is not quite up to the di
versified standing of this valley.

DICK JONES ACCCSED OF BEING
CHICKEN THIEF.
W. S. Allison Refutes Charges About
Frlslilu' Foosts.
With considerable spirit, W. S. Al
linson denies that he carried the
match box of so much mystery to the
Tav!s hen house, and therfor cannot
be held amenable to the law and made
to pay for the missing hens. In an
article to the Observer, he says:
Editor Observer In last night's is
sue of this paper, I saw my name
mentioned in connection with the
Davis chicken house robbery. Not de
nying, but what I am the rightful ow
ner of the match box found In the
thicken house, will say that it was
not in my possession at that time, as
I had loaned it to Mr. "Dick" Jones
on his fishing trip, Sunday night, Au
gust 8; one week previous to the rob
bery. Hoping this puts me in the
clear, and that Mr. Jones returns me
my match box, I am,
Respectively,
Senator W. S. Allison.

service gets real news.
