leave La Grande for Portland, on ac
count of Mr. Atkles' failing health,
after years' of continuous- residence
in this city and county. Mr. Ackles
today sold their property in this city
to Will Church.' The property con
sists of two splendid residences on
the north side, and 10 lots, all .along
Jackson street. The consideration is
not announced.
Mr. and Mrs. Ackles will leave at
once for the lower iltitude. The
couple have many friends here who
will ' be grieved to see them leave,
but hope the change of climate will
be of benefit to Mr. Ackles.

from Portland this morning, will leave

acquaintances here. Dr. McMillan
will probably return net Tuesday
