this morning and are being shown
over the valley today, by a local real

have been, that the land in the Grande
Ronde valley had to be irrigated be
fore it. would yield at all. They were
soon relieved of this idea by local
boosters and were agreeably surprised
at the resources of this county. .

(From Union Progress.)
There is some talk of the business
men, farmers, fruit growers and stock
men getting together soon and taking
up the matter of holding a fair some
time in October. We have a first class
half mile track and with the expendi
ture of a reasonable sum of money
we could hold a two or three days
fair that would be a credit to not
only the town, but the county, as we
have the best land in the northwest.

and vegetables on the coast. Our
live stock cannot be beat In the In
land Empire. We ask every resident
In the valley to come in with their
stock and produce should the fair be
pulled off.
