Actual capitalists and representa- :
tives of capitalists to the amount of
millions in Milwaukee, Wisconsin,
wer in La Grande yesterday after
noon and evening looking over the
valley with a view of Investing 'and
advising Investment of large bulks of
capital in Union and Baker county
projects, that if carried out. will
mean thousands of eastern dollars
to this valley. While the exact na
ture of their studies were not made
public, It Is presumed the men are
seeking water power for, in conver
sations, the men freely talked of that
phase of resources here.' Just what
it is, Is something of a mystery, but
It is known that the search is taking
the men through feasible water power
sites of Union and Baker counties.
They left last evening for Baker City
and will return to La Grande tonight
or tomorrow to complete their inves
tigation. Seem Highly Pleased.
In their conversations and in ad
dresses delivered by two "of the partv
at the banquet last evening. It is
evident the men are' elated over the
facilities here and will go back to
their associates, who have millions
and are going to invest a portion of
it here if their agents say so, and thev
urged prompt investment in this
county.
