Weston, Oregon, escaped death in the
collision ' on the electric road near
Spokane Saturday afternoon by a mi
racle. Jarman, who arrived in Walla
Walla last night gives a graphic de
scription of his harrowing experience
following the wreck. He said:
"I was sitting In the forward car at

News reached this city today noon
of the death of W. H. Turner, near
Carson about 9 o'clock this morning.
Whether the shooting was accidental
or whether he took his life Is not
known, but it is generally believed
that he met death by accidental dis
charge of his Winchester.
Mr. Turner started out -in the hills
this morning with his gun and rope.
After- he had been gone an hour his
lifeless body was found about a mile
from town by two little children, who
happened along that wayi The report
of a gun was heard by the people of
that vicinity some little time before,
but no significance was attached to it
until the grueBome find was made.
The bullet had entered the forehead
and had - apparently caused Instant
death as the body . was cold when
found by the children. An effort was
made to Becure Coroner Ison of this
city, but he is out of town so the
justice of the peace was summoned
to hold the inquest. It is expected
that the inquest will show whether or
not the shooting was accidental or
whether ; It " was deliberate. Baker
