fast game here yesterday the locals
were defeated by the team from Hun
tington the score being 7 to 5. It
was baseball from the go, both sides
playing the game for all It was worth.
Umpire Ferguson, being slightly ill,
made several wrong decisions but
neither side were especially benefited.

returned to Rae Brackett, who was
mysteriously shot Wednesday night
on a street corner in Portland, today.
His first expression made to his wife
and attending physicians was: "I have
not the slighest Idea who shot me;
if I accused any one while I was de
lirious, any such statement Is false."
Mrs. Brackett, the wounded man's
wife, who came here from Walla
Walla, said today: "My husband did
not accuse Louis Qulmby and J. M.
Main, and I am confident he does not
know who shot him."
