Mrs. W. A. Worstell, one of the
leading fraternal order ladies of this
city and a member of the W. R. C,
was operated on this morning at 8
o'clock, at Pendleton, to remove a
cancer. At a late hour this afternoon
word was received here that Mrs.
Worstell had survived the shock and
was improving splendidly. Mr. Wor
stell Is with her at Pendleton. "

rapidly maturing in the region of
Summerville," raid the inspector.
"This is not the usual slogan coming
from boosters who see new records
in every crop, but an actual fact, and
the threshers will verify the state
ment later on.
"But big crops are not unusual"
continued Mr. McCrae. "I have lived
in Union county for 30 ylears and
have never seen a complete crop fail
ure yet." '

District Attorney Ivanhoe said he
refused to further consider the mat
ter, as he deemed It more advisable
to have the fine paids than to put
the county to the expense of a Jury
trial. He left the court room. Lomax
has filed notice of appeal however,
and Justice Maxwell has taken the
matter of raising the fines under advisement.
