city of La Grande, in the County of
Union and State of Oregon, for the
purpose of submitting to the qualified
voters thereof, the proposition of
adopting or rejecting an act entitled:
"An act to provide a revised and con
solidated charter of the City , of la
Grande, in the County of Union, in
the State of Oregon," filed In the of
fice of the City Recorder of said City
on the 21st day of April, A. D. 1909,
and ordained by the city council of
said city by Ordinance No. 418 Series
1909, entitled: , "
"An ordinance ordaining a revised
and consolidated charter of the City
of La Grande, Oregon, and submitting
the same to the legal voters of said
city for adoption or rejection at a

making this year's celebration the
grandest ever held in La Grande were
arranged. The event will be opened
up with 100 guns at 6 o'clock n tho
morning, Robert Masterson has
charge of the salutes and has made
all necessary arrangements to - fire
them at the time designated.
The special train which will carv
the Elgin people to La Grande, will
leave Elgin at 8 o'clock sharp and will
