A decision has been handed down by
President Muggee, of Baker City, of
the Amateur league that the affair at
Elgin between La Grande and the El
gin teams last Sunday' was no game
and that neither one of the teams was
entitled to It The two managers de
cided this morning that the game will
be played over at any time and place
that the manager of the Elgin team
designates. The game will probably be
played Bom time after the Fourth.

James Lasley has sold his old home
property in south La Grande to John
Adams, proprietor of the soft drink
emporium at the Foley Hotel, and will
leave tonight or tomorrow for points
in Idaho and Utah. He may decide to
make his future horn somewhere In
one of thoBe two states.
Mr. Lasley is one of the few who
today can be classed as an expert
ex-stage driver. During his early life
he was a driver of no mean ability.
CARRIERS ARE BACK.

had their .annual vacatlous and from
now on will be on duty regularly un
less sickness intervenes. This morn
ing, Carrier Stoddard went back to
work after taking his rest of a week,
and Carrier Ball has been at work
for a week. Harry Brenholts, regul
arly substitute was employed during
the vacation period. ,
