where be represented the Conductors'
order of this city at the national con
vention, left last evening for Portland
where he will assume new duties as
general yard master for the O. R,
N. at Portland. The post Ion is a re
sponsible and strenuous one, but a
long Jump upwards in promotion. Tbe
promotion is earned however, as Har
ned is classed as one of the best con
ductors on the road.
Mrs. Harned will leave in a few
days to Join her husband and they
will make Portland their permanent
home city.
