Excepting In one particular, the Ob
server last evening outlined correctly
the probable action of the directors of
the Meadowbrook project to be taken
at last evening's seslon. That partic
ular is, that the south ditcb will not
have intake at Oro Dell, but a short
distance up the river from Island City.
The north ditch has not' been deter
mined. While Engineer Darley will follow
out his own recommendations with
sonctlon of the directors about as out
lined last evening in the matter of
establishing permanent grades and
platting the south district, he did not
commence this important work today,
by reason of the fact that the instru
ments ordered from Portland, and
necessary in carrying out the work
; from this stage, did not arrive this
morning and' may not reach here un
til tomorrow morning. In the interim,
no time will be lost for Mr. Darley
has an abundance of office work that
needs attention. "It's going, and eo-
i ing fast" Is the way Secretary Cleaver
recapitulated, irrigation developments
this morning, and the assertions are
without a question of doubt, true be
yond the fondest hopes of those who
a year ago dreamed of such a project.

.S.S.S. heals Sores and Ulcers in the very simplest way. It Just goes
..Tight down Into the blood and removes the causi, and the place is bound
', teal because the impurities and morbid matters which have been the
tnmeans of keeping the ulcer open are no longer absorbed from the blood.
."Kiternal applications of salves, lotions, plasters, etc.. can never produce a
.curs because they do not reach the source of the trouble.' At best they
eai only allay pain or reduce inflammation; such treatment is working on
;ynptoms and not reaching the cause. Every nutritive corpuscle in the
3blood 1 weakened or infected, they cannot nourish the fibrous tissue around
Che place, but instead they constantly discharge into the flesh around the
ore a quantity of impure, gertn-ladon mitter which gradually eats into the
. surrounding healthy tissue and causes the ulcer to enlargo. Since impure
Solood is responsible 'for Sores and Ulcers, a medicine that can purify the

'avrinps about a healthy condition of the flesh by supplying it with rich,
