It Is the same report wherever you
may go all over the Northwest "bum
per crops". ' We are past the "bright
prospect'" state, harvest is practically
here. We are haying In this valley
and next week the grain harvest be
gins In Umatilla county and the Pa
Ioubc. Good prices are assured and
along with our lumber and fruit and !

great demand, how one can be a pes-'

As the years roll by,we are let
ting many opportunities slip that
causes regret later. At the coming
meeting of the Pioneer Association let
there be a collection of as many of
the pioneer relics that Is possible to
obtain. A little thought and effort
would result in a collection that would
not only be Interesting but would be
worthy of preserving.'.. By commen
cing to collect on Pioneer day and
continuing the research until our
county fair meets we would have a
collection of relics brought and made
by the pioneers of Union county that
their children, grand children and
great grand children would appre
ciate at well as thousands of others.
If the Idea was entered Into with
any spirit it would require a much
larger space for such an exhibit than
many realize.
