of airbrake experts Sent out by the
International Correspondence school,
at . Scranton, and for the next two
weeks will be held at La Grande for
the benefit of local trainmen tf all
classes. There are three experts here
who wfll deliver lectures and explain
the finer points of Ar brake system
to any" who may fcpply at the. door of
the car. There is no detail or lea-:
ture in testing. Inspection and the like,
that cannot be shown and explained
by tftuae men. The lectures commen
d at 10:30 this morning and will con
tinue each day while the car Is here.

perintendent; W. F. Dlllan, instructor,
and J. M. McClelland, engineer. All

La Grande will unquestionably be
the "deserted Tillage" on next Sun
day when the Railroad Men's excurs
ion leaves for Joseph and Minam. The
indications are that there will be the
largest crowd. g0 on this excursion
thail any that has ever been given by
the Railroad men. People front 'Pen
dleton, Baker City and all outlying
towns are veryi anxious to go If they1
can be accommodated. The Tallgoad
company is mobilizing Its equipments
and "everything will be tn readiness
for the best excursion yet.
