Herewith we publish the law rela
tive to the employment of1 female
labor, which prescribes the hours of
the day and the week. Also the new
law prohibiting the presence of
minors in certain places, designating
the places, and for th punishment of
minors who represent themselves to
be of age. The law Is worthy of
reading by every parent, every minor
every business man malntaing estab
lishments named in the act.
Under section 1, page 205, session
laws, 1909. It is provided: "No fe
male shall be employed in any manu
facturing, mechanical or mercantile
stabishmnt, laundry, hotel, restau
rant, telegraph or telephone estab
lishment or office, or by any express
or transportation company, in this
state, more than 10 hours during any
one day, or more than 60 hours in
one. week. The hours of work may be
so arranged as to permit the employ
ment of females at any time so that
they shall not work more than 10
hours during the 24 hours of one
day,' or CO hours during one week."
Under section 1 and. 2, page J 37,
sessions laws, 1909, provides, section
1: "If any person, being . owner,
lessee, proprietor, or mploye of any
cigar store, public card room, saloon,
bar room, public billiard room, public
pool room, soft drink establshraent,
or other place of public amusement, j
shall suffer or permit any minor to
engage In auy game of cards, billi
ards, pool, x bagatelle, dice, throwing,
or . other game of chance, (in Buch
place) either for amusement or
otherwise, such person shall be deem
ed guilty of a misdemeanor, and
upon conviction threof, shall be pun
ished by a fine of not less than $25.
and not more than $100."
Section 2: "If any minor shall
represent and pretend to the owner,
lessee, proprietor or employe of any
plac enumerated in section 1 of this
