SETS SAIL
That the Corvallis track1 and field
meet will last but one day, on Satur
day, was the information received here
this morning, but as La Grande's
quartet had planned to leave this
morning, the trip was made as plann
ed. This does away with prelimin
aries in most of the events, and will
not tire the contestants for the finals.
La Grande'B four joined the Baker
City weight men here this morning
and It Is likely that Walters of Cove
will pass through here tonight on his
way to partake of the glories. The
Ontario team will come tonight.
Jay Millering has been high jumping
about five feet five inches and may
get a place in that event, while it is
probable he will land a third in the
pole vault The Ontario duet who go
11 feet without much effort will get
first place according to the dopestlrs.
Geddes has a chance to land a place
in the hammer, while Young and
Frank Millering are not outclassed in
tiie high hurdles, discuss and pole
vault to any great degree.
