A game of four-old-cat at the Lin
coln grounds yesterday, interspersed
with Borne ping pong, resulted in a
decisive victory for the -homers in the
La Grande-Perry contest. While the
score card shows 26 hits off Nelson
the Swede, it is an unjust accusation
to make against a really clever twirl

the wheels go around. His support
was ragged. This was due partially

there, but can't hold Nelson.
For La Grande two men played ball
all the time, and they were Jerry Proe
and Robert Cotner. The others grew
listless with the " easy meat before
them and after playing good ball for
two Innings, gave themselves to re
cuperating interest at occasions when
the crowd gave evidence of going
home. .
' Zimmerman threw for La Grande
and though not exerting himself, kept
his eye on the score sheet and when
he was in a hole, pulled himself out '
nicely, frequently.
Perry and La Grande too, will have
to whip up if they get paying crowds
in the future. The exhibition yester
day was decldely unsavory. Given a
honest effort to produce Interesting
baseball, the fans will give financial
support, otherwise not. '
