Ernest Lewis, of the Grand Ronde
Cash Company, which this " spring
leased the Townley orchards at Un
ion, was in the city this morning, and
in response to a query about the fruit
crop, said that they expect to harvest
a very fine crop this year. The Town-
ley orchard seems to be among the
very latest in the valley to blossom.
and the damage from frost was con
sequently small. Mr. Lewis says that
not even the cherries . will fall short
of a normal crop, and that the quality
will be of the very best. . They ex
pect to ship fully as much fruit as
came from the orchard last year.
