SEATTLE, Wash., April 23. (Spe
ciul.) At the Hawaiian exhibit at
the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Eposltion
will be seen the most remarkable col
lection of brilliantly colored sea fish
in existence. Tu9 territorial aquar
ium of Hawaii, in the . city of Hono
lulu has long been noted for the va
riety and numbers represented In the
collection, but it is principally ill
respect to the yarigated colors and
gorgeous tints that the fishes of
"Paradise of the Pacific" are chiefly
famous. In remarking upon this
peclkrity, Professor Daivd Starr Jor
dan, one of the world's hlgfcfc8t
authorities on the subject, said: 'No
aquarium can boast of a collection
of fishes more unique in form and
coloring, although some have a great
er number." 1
The Honolulu aquarium will be
transported to the Seattle Exposition,
an dthe display has been greatly in
creased in extent and value. The
work'of the United States Fish Com
mission in Hawaiian waters has re
sulted in a number of rare and won
derful discoveries in sea life, and-the
exhibit as now completed and ready
for transportation from Honolulu, is
the finest and most comprehensive
collection of marine life ever as-uembied.
