Extra wires and the hundreds of
Incandescent lamps requisite In the
brillant Illumination of La 0 ramie
during the congress and. carnival
weeks, were put In place today by a
crew of the Grand Ronde Electric
company. There will be 17 strings of
lamps running across Adams avenue
and Depot streeteach string thickly
clustered with small lights. The ef
fect on the illumination will be mark
ed and La Grande can then say It is
the best lighted city In the Northwest.
The work Is being done carefully and
accurately. '

might have a sentimental effect on
the market here; It might make buy
