Every new automobile means an ad
ditional booster for good roads. An
owner remarked yesterday that If tho
Booth lane had been In good condi
tion this year that there had been
few days but what the auto could
have been In service all winter. The
Booth lane Is the gateway to a large
section of the Sandrldge, where the
roads are nearly always In good con
dition. It would be dlffcult to even
estimate from a dollar and cents
standpoint the loss to the farmers of
the Sandrldge and the business inter
ests of La Orande that could be
charged up to the Booth Lane road,
a little figuring will prove the asser
tion, that the loss would exceed the
amount to require a sufficient num
ber of dollars to cover the surface
its entire distance and the excess
would then macadam It.
.-
Within the next few days orders for
new automobiles will begin to ar- j
rive. One dealer muted ysetorday
that, there woutild be no less than
twenty five new machines in the
county this year and this number may
bo exceeded by fifty per cent.

The season for coughs and colds Is
now at hand and too much care can
not be used to protect the children.
A child Is much more likely to con
tract diphtheria or scarlet fever when
he has a cold. . Tho quicker you cure
his cold the less the risk. Chamber

IT COSTS YOU ALMOST NOTHING TO SEE ALBERTA
In order that hemeseekers and land buyers may see Aloerta at the lowest possible expense, the Canadain
Pacific Railroad Company has made a late cf tut SI .25 frcm Pt r cletcr. tc Calgary, the lowest rate e' er offered
between these points and places the trip to the Calgary district within the reach of every homeseeker.
The Canadian Pacific Railroad Company has jtsf opened up the central section of its 3,000,00(1 sere tract in the
Dow River Valley, east of Calgary. This im nense tract is divided inio three sections and heretofore the western section
has been upon Ihe market. Rccenlto all the wheat land in the western section hat been advanced to $15.00 per are,
making a handsome profit fcrlhose who bought last fall at $10 per acre. In th: cenlral section, which has jusf teen
opened, Ihe company is row offering excellent wheat hud on th; ma'n line of th Canndisn Pacific and on the line of the
jj Canadian Northern at $10. $ll.5o and $!3.5o per acre on t&i years time. This land is excellent wheat land and is in the
t midst of a new iriigticd dislikt where a half a milHoi dollar reseroir is to be constructed this year and where the com
pany will spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in d'rch construction and other developments.
VJith railroads being built through the country and settlement advx-tfng at a rapid rate this new land will advance
from $5, t-; $8 per acre wiihin the next few mm'hi. You cannot afhrd to letmyney lie idle with such land investment
open to ycu. Pay one-tenth in cash and let the crops pay the remainder, or sef at a handsome'profit before another pay
ment is due.
Fortunes have been made and are today being made in Alberta wheat lands
and you arc missing the last best opportunity to secure cheap good lands on
the American Continent.
