Northwestern rails oad down Snake
river will establish passonger service
on April 15, from Huntington to Uob-
Inette at' the mouth of Powder river.
Construction trains re now engaged
in hauling supplies and material from
Huntington -to RoMnette to facilitate
the building of the road beyond the
river. ' ; C
According to the plans of the Utah
Construction company, which has the
contract for building the road to
Homestead, the big tunnel at the Ox
Bow will be completed on June 15.
This tunnel Is a half mile long, meas
uring a little more than 200 feet from
end to end. A large force of men has
been employed " for many months In
boring the big hole, and the meeting
of the two crews at the center of the
bore will mark the completion of the
great undertaking In building the road.
Many piles have been driven for the
bridge over Powder river and con
nection of the bridge' will begin be
fore long. If nothing happens to de
lay the work, trains will be running
to Homestead by October 15, 1909
This will be moct welcome news to
the people of that section, for they
will then have rail, transportation for
their products. As soon as passenger
service Is efttabllshed the people ' of
Eagle valley and also Pine valley, can
ship their product from Roblnette, as
ronda have", been built from the -val
leys to the mouth "of Powder rlvor. '.
