at 1 o'clock, the state officers of the .
Oregon , Threshers' association, will ,
meet w ith the threshers ' of , Union
county at the county court house in
this city, for the purpose of organiz
ing a County Threshers' association.
These associatipna are being formed
all through Oregon for the purpose of
bettering -threshing conditions as may
deem to be for the best interest of the
membership. One of the principal!
tines of work is the obtaining of bet
ter roads and improved bridge con
struction, which will meet with the
approval of every tar payer in , this
county.
There are 1S3 threshing outfits
owned in Union county, worth at least'
$3000 each, making an aggregate of
nearly $400,0(11) worth of machinery
connected with this very Important In
dustry, yet It has never had a head of
any kind or been In a" position to carry
out much-needed reform. . ".
