pherson, of the United States district
court, today handed down a decision
favoring the railroads in their fight
against the laws of Missouri, to re
strain the state from Imposing the two
cent fare, the maximum rate provls
Ions. ' .
The court ordered an injunction Ib-
sued restraining the state from enforc
ing the law. It was the contention of
the 18 railroad operating In Mtssourl
that the rates were confiscatory, and
violated the federal constitution.
The objections to the law passed by
the Missouri legislature and the find
Ings of the court In answer to the ob
jections, was almost a duplicate to the
result of the two-cent rate law In Mln
nesota, which was also declared un
constitutional. ' '

clares state-aided railroads as pro
posed for Oregon, are practical. He
built a similar road In North Carolina,
